Responsibilities:
- provides technical/laboratory/instrumentation support
for Senior Laboratory Courses in the Inorganic
Cheimistry, 610-240, 610-245, 610-340, 610-345.
- provides training and technical support for the
Shimadzu UV-Vis, Biorad FTIR, Polarimeter, ESR,
and the
MacLab Electrochemical System in the instrument
room adjacent
to the Inorganic Chemistry Lab.
- Sioe See is also
responsible for training and operation of the
QuattroII ESI Mass Spectrometer which is
mainly used for research in the School
Profile:
Sioe See joined the School of Chemistry in 1996.
She completed her MSc (Organic Chemistry)
research into metalloporhyrins under the supervision
of Assoc Prof Max Crossley. Sioe See returned
to
Malaysia to lecture in Organic Chemistry
at the
Tunku Abdul
Rahman College. She came back to the University
of
Sydney where she successfully supervised
the Inorganic Chemistry laboratory team.
At the School
of Chemistry in Melbourne University
Sioe See has applied herself very well
in the efficient organization and smooth implementation
of the practical
courses in the Inorganic Chemistry area.
Experiments/instrumentation/laboratory
set-up have been continually upgraded and
improved to reflect changes in the course structure.
She has assisted the course coordinators
in
demonstrating
to the undergraduates. She plays an active
role in Discovery Day activities- posters, interactive
displays
etc and is a
member of the Mass Spectrometry Management
Committee.
