to the Hutton Research Group
Our research laboratories are located in the Bio21 Institute at The University of Melbourne. The group remains part of School of Chemistry. Our expertise is
in the areas of amino acid, peptide and protein chemistry. Research areas
range from the development of new synthetic methods for the preparation of
amino acids, through the total synthesis of complex cyclic peptides with
potent biological activities, to the structure-based design of enzyme
inhibitors and determination of enzymatic reaction mechanisms and
