Dr Steve Wilkins
CSIRO Manufacturing Science and Technology

Activities and Research Program

Stephen Wilkins holds 7 International Patents filed in the area of X-ray optics and imaging. Some of these are key patents in relation to the formation and commercial activities of XRT Limited., a CSIRO spin-off company presently capitalized at around $20M.

He has over 30 years research experience in a wide range of aspects of X-ray physics and imaging spanning dynamical diffraction theory, X-ray optics design and manufacture, information-theoretic (MaxEnt) approaches to the crystallographic phase problem, material science studies especially relating to optoelectronic materials, development of instruments for synchrotron applications (BigDiff), fundamental aspects of X-ray diffraction and imaging including the development of novel methods of X-ray phase-contrast imaging including quantitative aspects.
