Student servicesInformation about on-campus services for students There are a wide range of services available to students at the University - specific course-related services provided at the School/Department and Faculty level - as well as general services available to all students. Services for Chemistry studentsThe Chemistry learning centreThe Chemistry learning centre is a room where students can drop in at lunchtime to seek help with their chemistry studies from the tutor on duty. Research facilitiesThe School has a wide range of modern research instruments and facilities for staff and student use. LibraryThe Chemistry library is a branch of the University's main library group, which is a part of the University's Information Division. It is located at the Chemistry building in Parkville. Computer resourcesThere are computers available for student use in the CAL Lab, located on the first floor of the Chemistry building. Staff/student liaison committeeThere is a staff/student liaison committee that meets five times throughout the academic calendar. The committee was formed to address any issues that students faced with the course or the School's facilities and to process suggestions for any improvements. The Chemistry Postgraduates Society (CPS)Find out more about the Chemistry Postgraduates Society - a group for postgraduate students. Faculty of Science first year loungeThe Faculty of Science offers a first year lounge to assist students with the transition to tertiary study. Study Abroad and Student ExchangeProfessor Frances Separovic is the School of Chemistry SASE Advisor. Any enquiries in this regard can be made by contacting her on (+613 8344 2447) or at fs@unimelb.edu.au University-wide servicesThe University of Melbourne has everything on campus to make your time as a student an enjoyable one. There are a variety of services, clubs and associations available and a complete guide to University students services is available. Study-related servicesThe Language and Learning Skills Unit can provide tips on how to deal with the pressures of exams and how to manage your study load. AIRport caters for all University of Melbourne students, especially new and international undergraduate students. This site provides interactive exercises for building your academic and organisational skills. The University library has many branches and locations, and is available to support both staff and students. The Student Information System (SIS) provides links to important information about fees, exams and IT. Recreational and other facilitiesThe University Sports Centre provides sport and recreational opportunities for the University Community including students, staff and graduates. The Virtual Service Centre is a portal for all services available to students, as well as tips on study and life-balance. The Student Union is the representative body for all students of the University of Melbourne. Their site includes a wide range of services. The union supports a range of clubs. |
